Recent Interview with The Northern Miner

April 7, 2016

The Northern Miner interviewed me and Ross McElroy in February for an update on Fission Uranium’s progress. A lot had happened since we last spoke with Matt Keevil and as you can imagine, he had a lot of questions.

Major investment from CGN

Obviously one of the biggest subjects was CGN Mining investing $82M in Fission and signing an off-take agreement. Matt found it interesting that the deal closed just two weeks after it was announced but you know, I pointed out that CGN had been doing their due diligence for over a year by that point so once the deal was announced, it was mostly down to signatures, paperwork and Exchange approval.

We then got into the drill program progress and Ross explained our “book-end” program – by which he meant targeting areas to the west and east of the Triple R deposit. If you’ve read the latest press releases you’ll know that this approach has delivered substantial results from both an exploration and a zone growth perspective. To the West we expanded the footprint of the land-based R600W zone and, stepping out further towards the high-grade boulder field, we discovered the new R840W zone (also land-based). To the East, we transformed the R1620E into a high-grade zone.

Ross’s point of view

The mineralization in these zones, including the new R840W, remains shallow – the hallmark of the deposit and other zones we’ve discovered so far at PLS. As Ross said in the interview: “It’s a reminder we’re dealing with a unique project that doesn’t compare to anything else discovered in the Athabasca. We’re really excited about the prospect of some high-grade growth in our resource numbers.”

Since the interview was published, we’ve made even more progress and the strike length of the mineralized trend now stands at 2.58 km. Although the drill program has now finished, we’ll be sharing the drill hole assay results as they come in.
